DISCOUNTS
AREd offers reduced rates for its research education program to help broaden access to Federally required trainings for Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) and Research Mentoring.
Institutions that are eligible for lower rates include Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU), and public institutions in NSF-designated EPSCoR states, as defined below.
In Title III of the Higher Education Act of 1965, the US Congress officially defined an HBCU as a school of higher learning that was accredited and established before 1964, and whose principal mission was the education of African Americans.
TCUs are a category of Minority Serving Institutions in the United States higher education system. They are distinguished as tribal schools because they are chartered by tribal governments and are located on or near American Indian reservations.
The National Science Foundation created the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) program to enhance geographic diversity in the nation’s STEM research enterprise. The current EPSCoR jurisdictions are depicted in the map below and described on NSF’s website (link to https://new.nsf.gov/funding/initiatives/epscor).
If your institution meets the criteria described above, please contact AREd at ared@utah.edu to receive a discount code that can be applied during checkout.
